Nigeria Humbles Mali In The African Women Championship

Africa’s women champions, the Super Falcons of Nigeria on Sunday evening began their title defence on a solid note at the African Women Championship holding in Cameroon.

The Super Falcons thrashed Mali 6-0 in a Group B opener at the Limbe Omnisports Stadium.

Francisca Ordega got the opener on the 21st minute while striker Asisat Oshoala made it two nil just before half time.

The girls did not relent in the second half, as they came more determined with Sunday scoring from the spot after Oshoala was brought down in the box.

Oshoala netted three more goals at the 64th, 69th and 78th minute, giving the Malian side one of the worst goal margins in the tournament’s history.
